What is MS dynamics nav? Why we need it?


Microsoft dynamics nav- It is an ERP used as a business process management software.

then now the question arises,

What is an erp??

Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) is business process management software that allows an organization to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business.

Enterprise Resource Planning softwares in MS Dynamics are :

gp-great plains
ax-axapta,
nav-navision
sl-solomon 4

I am going to discuss in detail about the Nav ERP in these and in my coming blogs.

language used:  C/AL(client/server application language)

Why C/AL for MS Dynamics Nav?

If data from multiple tables need to be combined to one report or displayed on one form, you will probably need C/AL programming skills.

Another purpose of C/AL is to control the execution of the various C/SIDE
objects. 

With C/AL you are able to coordinate them in a way that meets the
business needs of your customer.
